This seems quite nice to me. Good song -- 'Spain' by Chick Corea -- executed cleanly, with good tone and sound. Good recording, musical rendition, and ... impressive technique.
Maybe it's easier to play such things on a two-handed tapping instrument like Mobius Megatar, but this is darned impressive. Anybody know this musician?

"I use a mute that is really nice for some of those tricky two handed tapping parts! Guys to check out that utilize these same techniques are Greg Howe -- not Greg Howerd -- Guthrie Govan, and Bumble Foot!

"To start this solo I wrote a theme or melody. This helped me to have something to tie everything together. It is nice to think of a melody before really digging into anything else. I took the progression and played off of it trying to create small melodic lines that sounded unique. I think the best way of doing this is to set up a mini disc recorder or even a cheap hand held recorder that you would find at Radio S*** and record the jam. Then you compile all the takes. I like to then take some time away from it so that when I hear it again it is a bit more fresh to the ears. Youll notice that the main melody uses some of the blue tones of the minor pentatonic scale. It also follows the exact note of the chords walking up. This helps to set up your solo and helps to lock you in with what the bassist is doing.

"The next part is a two handed tapping technique. This follows the chords exactly. This is where knowing how to make an arpeggio comes in very handy. You will notice that I am playing the 1-3-5 of each chord. In the first arpeggio we outline a C minor chord then we go to a Bb major chord then to an Ab major chord and then all the way down to the G. The next section goes from C minor to Bb major and the walk up goes Ab major, Bb Major, B major and Db Major. It is really important that you learn where all of these arpeggios exist. Tied with the higher root of each of the chords this makes quite a cool sound. The other thing I will start talking about is the tap from nowhere. This is where your left hand finger slams down to sound a note on a string that has not been played. Guys like Greg Howe are so good at these techniques that you really cant tell the difference between his picking and his taps from nowhere. Pretty awesome! Imagine all of the new ideas you can come up with simply using the Minor and Minor Pentatonic shapes. Imagine if you knew all of the chord tones that were passing by as well. This thought always starts to make my head explode. There is just so much to learn on the guitar and I think that is one of the reasons why I love it so much. Even with the information that we know now we could reapply it to different parts of the fret board and learn it in all of the keys as well. Really milk these ideas for everything they are worth. Once we go through that series of arpeggios we then move back to the C minor then to the Bb major and this is where it gets a bit tricky. Here we outline the walk up with a neat tapping sequence. The chords to outline are Ab major, Bb Major, B major and Db Major. This is one of those taps from nowhere so really take your time and read the tabs very closely. Think (Left Tap, Right Tap)LT RT LT RT and so on. Dont be afraid to really experiment with this and move it around through all kinds of different shapes."

[Editor's note -- Check out the video link above. Such a sweet and clear tone he achieves using picking and two-handed tapping on 6-string! No sticky playing required, even though he uses a mute as on a dedicated touchstyle instrument.]

Bass guitar tab is an extremely generalized way of writing bass guitar music.

If you are interested in becoming a bass guitarist you require to get aware of bass guitar music by playing the bass lines of a few of your favorite songs before you permit your inner bass player off the chain. Utilize this handy tool you can discover how to be the bass player in a band rapidly without accomplishing too much into boring argument.

Playing Bass: Keeping Time

The bass player's job is easily to keep time. Nothing can be easier. Until you try to do it. So what is actually involved?

The bass guitar player keeps time by playing a 'bassline' which is generally a rhythmic' sequence of notes.

The bass player brings together the rhythmic playing of the drummer with the melodies and chords played by the lead guitarist. Do you require to be a talented musician to do this? Yes you do. The bass guitar player is the guy who switches off his brain and becomes one with the flow of the music. He then switches his brain back on and become the designated driver for the rest of the band.

A newbie bass guitarist may not automatically be able to go after (or lead) the rest of the band right from the kick off. You might need a few materials to work with while you ease into the job. Bass guitar tab gives the guitar player written directions on what to play to give the bass line to a song.

Bass Guitar Tabs

Tablature is a written representation of the strings of the guitar using numbers to show the frets. If you are looking to learn the bass guitar rapidly tab will help you. It is simple to pick up and to bring to mind and it permits you to learn the riffs and phrases you require to give structure to your band's music.

A bass guitar tab is an image of the fret board which may be drawn using Notepad on your personal computer or, if you like, by hand. The frets are numbered on lines representing the guitar strings.

If you have a 4 string bass, the upper string is the G string, next the D string, the A string, and the E string. The numbers below the lines are the frets where the notes are played. If there is zero below the line it signifies the open string is played. A chord is signified in bass guitar tabs by two numbers, one above the other. Most bass guitar tabs contain a legend which explicates any unfamiliar terms.

With the history of rock music going back for generations tabs are accessible for any song you can remember. The internet is by far the absolute source for bass guitar tabs. Just do a Google search and you will have more material than you will ever require. All you have to do is learn and practice. Learn and practice your favorite songs first. Bass guitar is not a musical instrument you can approach without passion. Bass guitar riffs may be learnt from tab books but should be played from the heart.

So you have decided the acoustic guitar is the instrument for you.

What are the first steps to take to get your guitar playing off to a flying start?

How about we cover the really simple stuff here, like what type of music will I be playing? Am I aiming to be a specialist guitarist? What kind of amplifier do acoustic guitar players use, and what strings are absolute for which genre of music?

After we have covered these topics you will have comprehensible idea of the way ahead in your guitar playing career.

Right, so what is your acoustic guitar repertoire going to consist of? Which music attracted you to the acoustic guitar should truly be your guide here. The most evident acoustic genre for numerous people is folk music. This genre truly took off as a form of extended music in the 1960's and now there's a tremendous volume of material for you to pick from.

Heaps of musicians who are interested in singing ballads go for the acoustic guitar for the reason that it's so simple to pick up the instrument and go ahead and sing. Providing your guitar is in tune for sure. But in all-purpose the acoustic guitar is an amazing companion for the ballad singer for the reason that it won't compete with your vocals.

While we are on the subject of repertoire, never forget the acoustic guitar is ideal for singing your own basic arrangements of extended songs from numerous styles of music. Two examples of rock and roll songs that were hits all through again as acoustic ballads are "Layla" by Eric Clapton and "Light My Fire" originally recorded by The Doors and reworked by Jose Feliciano.

To permit your audience hears you're playing, you can pick to amplify your guitar by easily playing into a microphone as classical or flamenco guitarists do, or make usage of a pickup and an amplifier. The question of which amp to use is a matter for experimentation and talking it through with more matured guitarists.

Frankly speaking you wouldn't require any type of effects for acoustic guitar music; it just requires to have the volume to reach your audience in a cafeteria or hall. So just keep in mind that you are seeking for a cool clear sound from your amp to help carry your vocals instead of set up shop in competition with them.

The decision of strings for the beginner acoustic guitarist is a no-brainer. Learn on nylon strings till your fingers are toughened up. You will form callouses on the recommendations of your fingers throughout the first few weeks of playing, after that you can commence on a steel string guitar if you need without slicing your fingers. Regarding the sound of the different types of strings, nylon will give you a mellow, unobtrusive sound, and steel strings have a sharper sound which demands emphasis from the audience. This can augment your vocals and facilitate you to do solos if what you wish is to./pp Now you have got the simple topics covered all that's left so you can do is enjoy your journey as an acoustic guitar player.
