megatars suck. The guy Traktor Topaz can’t sell any instruments without mentioning the Chapman Stick. Sleazy car salesman that he is.

It’s called business. I’ve been thinking hard for a year about whether I should get a Megatar. It has everything I want, and I prefer its tone, shape, general appearance, string spacing, etc. I’m starting Traktor’s layaway plan today. Even if the Chapman stick were to cost less than the Megatar, I’d still get a Megatar. (But if the Megatar cost more than a Chapman stick at current price, I’d probably get neither ).

I don’t think Traktor is being dishonest. The same thing happens with electric guitars: most are Fender Strat clones, and during decades most bass gutars were called Fender, so it wasn’t odd to hear someone speaking about “a Fender Bass” regardless of its brand.
